I was hooked on this gin before I even tasted it - from the ominous yet alluring prospect of what Bertha’s Revenge might actually be, and for what transgression it was warranted, though to the cute green seal on the bottle (a wax hoof print impression). The gin is entirely clear, distilled from whey into a crystalline liquid. The black lovage botanical gives it a delicious peppery edge. Justin Green, Antony Jackson and Ballyvolane House have a winner on their hands here.
