Bertha's Revenge Crab Apple Hot Spiced Punch
Warm up in the colder months with a soothing Bertha’s Revenge Crab Apple Hot Spiced Punch.
It is quick and easy to make and will warm the cockles on a winter’s day. It is made in two stages, firstly you make the hot cider and then mix the cocktail afterwards.
- 240 mls Bertha’s Revenge Crab Apple Gin Liqueur
- 500 mls apple cider
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 1 whole cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 whole star anise
- 4 orange peels (for the garnish)
- 4 teaspoons of brown sugar (optional)
To Make the Hot Spiced Cider
Place the apple cider, cinnamon stick, orange juice, cloves and star anise in a saucepan and bring to the boil and then simmer for ten minutes. Remove from the heat and strain into a jug.
To Mix the Cocktail
Set out four glasses and add 60 mls of Bertha’s Revenge Crab Apple Gin Liqueur to each glass, then top up each glass with the hot spiced apple cider. Garnish with the orange peel and a stick of cinnamon and serve warm. Add an optional teaspoon of brown sugar to sweeten the cocktail. Up to you!
