Happy Guinness World Records Day!
Thursday, 16th November marks ‘Guinness World Records Day’.
When she died on New Year’s Eve 1993, just 3 months shy of her 49th birthday, she had become something of a local celebrity. Over the course of her long life she had given birth to 39 calves, and this achievement, together with her tremendous age, had earned her an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.
When we were thinking of a name for our gin we wanted to find something that was eye-catching, distinctive and that dovetailed with the pedigree of what are working with and what we have set out to achieve. The dairy farming heritage of Ballyvolane House, our use of whey alcohol in the gin, and our shared love of the gorgeous and gentle characters that can be found only in Ireland led us back to Bertha. To immortalise her memory, we have brought her back in spirit, literally!!

Double Gold for Bertha's Revenge Gin - San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) 2022
Bertha’s Revenge Gin was awarded a Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2022. This is the highest award we have received from a truly independent awards judging panel so far. We would like extend our thanks to the judges. We are absolutely delighted.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) has just finished its 22nd annual judging of spirits. Founded in 2000, the SFWSC is the oldest competition in North America. A total of 70 judges drawn from all over the world evaluated approximately 5,000 spirits over two weeks in April 2022. 2022 marked the largest number of entrants that the San Francisco competition has ever received. Not only is the SFWSC now the largest spirits competition in the world, but we saw growth across all spirit categories, especially RTDs.
